I read this book in the baby Fantasy Challenge and the challenge Milady (although I read the edition Bragelonne but hey, it's the same house and in fact, c is the volumes 2 and 3 that I have in my lady ... I'll read tomes soon ...). In

This book is a real favorite ! Like the Heart Gem (also published by the Musketeers Years Later), he took me in a fantasy world of adult rich and diverse .

The heroine of the story is a little 12 year old daughter, Elena , but it will quickly grow and mature throughout the adventure, in contact with several characters who will help or the chase. these characters are quite many and how to present them is interesting. We meet them sparingly and it is not lost in all the names. I liked this approach. For example, in Part 1, we find several main characters (with Elena Er'ril Stand , the warrior penguin or Kral, the Highlander) and presto, in Part 2, we change places, as if they resumed and a new story one discovers 3 new characters ( Tol'chuk , a rather special and 2 og're metamorphs Mogweed and Farlane ) which will of course at one time or another to join the other ... The whole mystery was where, when, and especially ... how!

The story of each is so well developed. Each character has their own motivation. Species are also quite varied. We thus find human warriors, magicians, mountaineers, og'res, of metamorphs of el'phes .. . not to mention horrific creatures created by the Black Heart. Personally, I loved Elena follow because it must adapt quickly despite the loss of family members (dead or removed) and discover its magical powers. I liked its evolution and internal questioning. I find it neither too superficial nor too slender. She is rather shy at first but quickly asserts itself, does not take a big head. She is well supported by the valiant Er'ril , another character that I loved to follow throughout the story (not counting Tol'chuk and Kral ...). For cons, I have less adhered to metamorphic or even el'phe, the characters may be darker and more ambivalent.

I found in this first volume a bit the spirit of Volume 1 of Lord of the Rings is to say the quality of the product. At least in terms of characters, how they meet, bind, split, find themselves ... By cons, level writing is different. Tolkien was much descriptions, we dive (up to the overdose sometimes) very specific details about the past of the characters or place, largely defining the universe. Here is one more in a modern style , but not devoid of descriptions lively !

The action is indeed very this, of course we follow the escape characters face danger. There are a lot of suspense but Dante fighting some where the bravery and courage are needed. I imagined some scenes already adapted without problem to the movies. That would be fabulous! Parts can also reveal elements of the mythology or present important elements for the future. The writing of James Clemens is beautiful in any case, I never got bored from beginning to end , I went like butter in this novel.

The story itself may seem conventional to some but that's the way it is written and which brought the richness of this first volume (and maybe this saga). I was repeatedly blown away by the tide of history. I really did not want to release the book until you know the rest! Dante is the final, finishing the first volume to wonder what might be called an introduction, but has already shown much of his power! Given the very special introduction which plunges us as if we read the lost scrolls (I actually smiled at the fake parchment must sign to accept that reading), I feel that Clemens planned volumes in its 5 millimeter. There are quite a lot of leads in this first volume will be to clarify in the following volumes. I also launching immediately into the second volume ... I do Can not wait!

Y course similarities as covering (beautiful), the names of the characters (Belle / Bella Ebouard / Edward) and some other stuff (which Belle always breaks his mouth, his madness cars truck, his father still and quiet side of the plate level relationships, his mother a little hysterical, Ebouard remote at first). But overall I was disappointed by the tone of the story and this Belle too different it a despicable character and boring. She keeps the girls themselves as the smartest and most beautiful when it is not the case of the real Bella ...

The jokes are repeated too much more. During the two-thirds of the story, we used the same misunderstanding about Belle qu'Ebouard who believes is a vampire ... Super ... I can tell you that the team has faced some serious trouble. To recall (since you still suffers amnesia weekly to my departure), they went to America to find drugs against AIDS to save our national Mama. You might wonder who this Gary, is not it? Well, it's hallucinatory total, the strong point of the story! You believe there may not at first but this Gary is an intelligent zombie !

Yeah, as if we had not much to do with hordes of zombies idiots and slow, we now need some guys are crazy enough (and smart, for example what Gary was a doctor) to kill itself by arriving to oxygenate their brains while they are dying. Eggs are too, these Americans, General!


But I must say it gives interest and spice to this story . We may have our hands a parchment history, something we include in schools in a century or two (if it still manages to survive, to rebuild a semblance of a dictatorship and to force some one to go to school to build our future atomic bombs, of course ...)!

Finally, here is the big news, General Con'quest. You'll see that it was not easy every days Zombie Island, former Manhattan. I really thought we were back in an American series with twists anything goes. In their place, I farted a cable and crashed into the pile with my bazooka to try to exterminate a small percentage of the million zombies stuck on this damn island. But I think I would have smashed ... admittedly, the forces of evil are powerful, even more than previously thought ...

General, hide you, the final pages, I saw that it was not over ... Will there soon be more stories. A Zombie Nation then a Zombie Planet ... I fear the worst ... Having conquered the island, the zombies will conquer a country and a planet? Could this planet Gaya? Who writes these suites? Paco Rabanne? The Mayans? Have much time before 2012 ... If Roland Emmerich laughed at our face, we'll make him pay dearly. After all, we lost millions of men, women and children to conquer South Africa (vuvuzelas of crap! My ears still are ...) and keep the land for survival in case the super volcano explodes Rican ... But if now, they prove that the zombies are the real cause of our extinction ... We're in the shit!

My opinion:

Having loved the series-TV, I could not pass next to a comic book on Buffy! Especially since it is a real Following written by series creator, Joss Whedon , and therefore keeping a little bit values of the series (from Volume 2 vf, other authors such as Brian K. Vaughan , the author famous Y The Last Man , take the place of Whedon ... do not read that, I can tell you the direction it takes ...).


In any case, in this early season 8 comic, and we keep the same one again. Having no restrictions or technical budget, Joss Whedon is loose and willing to go even later in the fantastic fight by his Slayers cons immense creatures or whole armies of monsters. The laws of physics are also a problem (everybody knows that flying humans to the TV or the movies, is the hardest thing to do ... the evidence in Smallville, it not only about history but also special effects and budget that Clark does not always fly in season 10 ... In Lois & Clark, he steals but this is ridiculous and outdated level realism) . The witches are no longer retained and fly at will, sending larger mines good magic. Ca, it is quite fun, it keeps some fun . "Oh yes, and Dawn is a giant!" : D


level characters, found mostly Buffy and Xander , installed in a castle in Scotland since the destruction of Sunnydale. They form the Slayers to train to fight with the help of the elderly. Their group forms a sort of army against the Forces of Evil, it's over the small gang, then we move to the big global organization! Giles handles a team in England and Andrew Italy. We see them occasionally. Our dear magician, Willow , also comes from the episode 2, bringing his many talents to defeat the enemy!


the side of evil , we also few surprises with the return of familiar characters in the series. I do not say that, I give you a surprise. I can tell you cons by a new character in the person of General Voll will not organize Buffy in her heart. Overseeing research in the crater of the Mouth of Hell, he'll look at Slayers groups of terrorist cells ...


Level design is fairly uneven . Some boards are weak but overall it's nice to read. This is not the strong point of the comics say, but the main characters are easily recognizable even when the colors are well chosen. Note that some blankets are wonderful (including the one shown in Volume 1 vf, love).


short, a good comic book series that I will continue to read and I recommend it to anyone who liked the series! I warn you though, is the comics, even if you keep the characters and continuity in the dialogue, the action is necessarily more excessive than in the series.

Very excited about the Volume 1, I can tell you immediately that this was not the case of Volume 2! Whether it was long and laborious to arrive at the end of this book, yet shorter than the previous one (336 vs. 392 pages).

Thomas has lost its charm! The fun and crazy side disappeared. Criticism of society is not sufficiently emphasized, and then too subtle to do that I have not seen? Nan frankly, much level writing, it has not changed (although there is less dialogue, I suspect) but the side scenario, and it stuck limit, I understand the final chapter without revealing too much, to the cheek and reboots the Stargate saga. To believe that the author realized he was lost in a plot dicey.

For "War of the Trees" has been slow up to a final "Non-explosive." Yet the start was still pretty cool (the scene with the vaccination of school age 13, Jessica who wants to sleep in turns and Thomas, his father who sleeps with another ... the ancestors of the trees civilization, the message about respecting nature ...) but then it gets lost with a Thomas too far, too alone with these endless questions about his relationship with women and the fact that it is handled or not. This problem of handling is also the big problem of the saga in general. It had been disturbed in Volume 1 but there it's even worse here. Nox Noctis is a pretty despicable character and double puzzle dork who just call everything into question every time. You never know who to believe and force, we get lost ... I would have convictions for once! There, over the pages, I became disinterested. You'll understand the plot did not really hooked!

Time to characters ... Like I said, Thomas is too lonely. Where are his accomplices?! Why not introduce any new characters?! Professor Picton me frankly shit in this volume. Y has at least 10 scenes (I exaggerate, but not far) where Thomas cried 'Picton, I need you, come see me! "And which is expected ... and Picton did not return. His appearances are sporadic and Thomas left to fuck up.

I'm back from Montreuil!

with my girlfriend Jess and sister iwry , we arrive (Difficult) in the capital to 16h (GPS we planted in full before the National Gendarmerie Montreuil ... It's simple, the path of the GPS was an endless loop passing us by way streets! He farted a cable, I tell you! and us!).

Scarcely time to ask the hotel you can leave to spend the rest of the afternoon at the show. Normally, I should not go but saw that it was free from 16.30 for the night (announced yesterday on the website - for once it was used for something ...), Bouarfa much enjoy. We will not spit in the soup.

17h, it is deflowered. We discover the place, huge, and the crowd, already present with many school groups. But it will be worse on Saturday and even Sunday! On Monday morning, they believed that painful but ultimately, there was a lot of people too.

Then you describe the scene, therefore a ground floor and a floor which is divided over a hundred publishers (I have not counted .. . 300 exhibitors according to the brochure). Between the two, an intermediate stage, the " mezzazine "with views of the exhibitors on the ground floor and proposed that stuff to eat, the ability to pee (hallelujah! More miracle, it was free) and chairs if you had sore feet (and tested approved on Monday morning).

When you arrive, you also can leave your coats at the reception (2 € hanger anyway, with 2 coats max per hanger ... When you are 3, like us, you get fucked "). If you bought your tickets on the net at 6 €, you also have to go get a "check-read" (Or reduction) of 4 € to buy a book at the show. It was cheaper than buying tickets on site (which were at 4 €, but without a check-read - ideal for those who know they will not buy anything ... not our kind lol). So much for the formalities!

Returning to the show itself. The atmosphere was good-natured all the way! The fact that it is a living "youth" (children / teens / young adults) gives a colorful and joyful tone to the pits. No big puddle of blood, morbid stuff, or posters sensual in this show is all ages. Although children can sometimes be annoying (it chirps often!), Is that the atmosphere has never disappointed. The people were all there to have fun, it showed.

Anyway, on Friday, we toured the "big" publishing houses, it is Michel Lafon or Hachette Jeunesse. It has also met with Maggie Stiefvater that evening, an American who wrote the saga " Wolves Mercy Falls" (Volume 1 is called "Chill"). First big day! 10h-18h is parti mon kiki! I had two goals that day and they were successful: D

I missed the first because it was during the previous dedication but the second was just after (waiting for 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. and 15:45 to represent approximately 17h). It was very funny and nice to see. Second big day! We stayed so late because they were beginning to tire. The crowd, it's tired! On the stand Delcourt, impossible to stop and read the comics / comics, pushing it too!

C'te day was a bit more challenging. We redid the tower stands. Jess has discussed this with his contacts in preparation for the next Livraddict Livraddict Mag (No. 5, already!)
