I am inclined to believe that your critical Stylistically, faculty, rigid and mechanistic, like the teachers, the beginning of last century, commenting on their students' essays remind too many bad memories for one and other: to encourage them to leave a video game or a TV show reality for the benefit of a book.
Honestly, I think you make this a great disservice to literature. It is true that the style is the real soul of any literary work. This is the style that makes the work live in the imagination of the reader, so it must be as free, rich and inventive than what is required of the plot. But for the average reader it is just a recipe and everything that matters is what the author says, that this reading is going to bring and what a pleasure it will take.
This does not preclude you, quite the contrary, to know your choices and especially my favorites, as does Isabella Motrot for film.
I would strongly encourage you to inspire criticism that Alexander Garden was for Canal + and watch carefully how to proceed Frédéric Ferney in the boat book: that is, for me, the only program that, without snobbery or showing off, giving really want to read.
